Fr. Jack Durchholz
Fr. Jack Durchholz was born on July 11th, 1957 and raised on the East side of Evansville, Indiana. He is the son of Martin and Mildred Durchholz and has one sister and three brothers. Good Shepherd Catholic Church is his home parish. In 1989, he was accepted as a candidate for the priesthood for the Diocese of Evansville. In 1993, he completed his undergraduate studies at Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. He completed his theological studies 1994 earning a Masters of Divinity from Sacred Heart School of Theology in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Fr. Jack was ordained to the transitional Diaconate at Sacred Heart Seminary in fall of 1994, and ordained to the Priesthood on March 18th, 1995 at his home parish Good Shepherd in Evansville, Indiana. His first assignment was at Saint Ferdinand Catholic church in 1996, where he served for three years as Associate Pastor under the Pastorate of Father Philip Kreilein. In 1998, he was reassigned to Holy Redeemer Parish under the Pastorate of Father Ron Zgunda. In June 2000, he was assigned to his first Pastorate at Saint Boniface in Evansville. In 2001, he was assigned as Pastor of Saint Philip Church, Posey County, until June 2009 when he was assigned Pastor of Saint Ferdinand Parish.

Deacon James King
James was born in Frankfurt Germany on May 8th 1962. He and his family settled in Lakeland Florida where he began elementary school. This is where he lived until he graduated from Santa Fe Catholic High School in 1980. In the year following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Chapel Activities Specialist. After his time in the Army, James attended St. Meinrad College, during this time he would meet his future wife Diane. After marrying, James and Diane would settle in Florida for approximately ten years prior to returning to Indiana with their children Megan and Ian. He has been a member of St. Ferdinand Parish since 1994.
James has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ashford University, and a master’s in organizational psychology from the University of the Rockies. He is completing a master’s degree in pastoral theology from St. Meinrad. After an enlistment in the Army, James’ training and work has been in the area of technology as it applies to business and accounting systems. He has worked as a computer systems analyst\network, and systems administrator, programmer, and business systems analyst most of his adult life.
He has always served at every parish he has been a member during his life, in any way he was needed. James was ordained Deacon in August of 2009 for the Evansville diocese and has served at St. Ferdinand since ordination. After leaving the private sector in 2011, he currently works full time as the Pastoral Associate at St. Ferdinand.
Youth and Catechetical Director
Kacie is a Dubois County native, grown and raised in Huntingburg. After earning a B.S in psychology from Indiana State University, Kacie continued her educational pursuits at Ball State University earning an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Upon graduation, Kacie worked in the wilderness therapy industry as a counselor for adolescents with addiction and other mental health issues.
Kacie has been involved in parish ministry in a variety of capacities since childhood. Both professionally and personally, Kacie has always had a passion for empowering others to see their potential and for fostering an awareness of God within each of our hearts.
Parish Catechetical Leader
Debbie was born and raised in Jasper, In. She joined the US Navy after high school and served for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Master's Degree in Public Service Administration from University of Evansville and Master's in Pastoral Theology from St Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology.
Debbie was a catechist and worked in adult faith formation for seven years prior to coming to Christ the King. She is married to Curt Schmitt from Ireland and has a son Jay.
Randy has lived in the Ferdinand area for the past 29 years and has performed maintenance work for the community over the last 25 years. During that time, he has served the community as a Volunteer Fireman and First Responder. He and Laurel Schaefer were married at St. Ferdinand in 1982. They have a daughter Amber. Randy is in charge of all maintenance for the parish and its facilities including the cemetery.
Parish Office Manager
Jane has been the Parish Office Manager for 23 years. She has one daughter, Jennifer, a son-in-law, Brett and 3 grandchildren - Dylan, Morgan, and Ethan. As Office Manager, she oversees all general office duties, Accounts Payable, Receivable, Payroll, and numerous other jobs.
